Web Directions North
2007 & 2008
Web Directions North is the Canadian arm of the popular Web Directions conference series, running in Vancouver since 2007.
This is more than just a speaking gig; both years, the four of us who organized the event lined up a roster of international speakers, sold tickets to 350+ people, booked hotels and catering, designed dozens of printed artifacts, partnered with companies like Microsoft and Adobe for sponsorship, and all the other logistics that go into 4 days of events.
But with the after-parties and two days at Whistler post-conference, it was hardly all work.
